We recently had Halton Electric do a hot tub install and electric panel upgrade. From the initial conversation about the job to the finished product, our experience was nothing short of fantastic.
Having zero experience with hot tub site preparation I had several questions. Derek was not only able to fit in multiple phone calls to answer my questions weeks prior to his team showing up for the job but found the time in his busy schedule to help identify barriers and solutions, review photos and brainstorm ideas to significantly improve my initial concept during our many conversations.
Our hot tub delivery date was pushed back by the delivery company, on two occasions. Halton Electric were more than flexible and moved things around on their end to accommodate the later delivery date while still ensuring that everything, including safety inspection was completed before the holidays.
The on site team were personable, professional and efficient, answering all my questions. They were even able to accommodate a last minute change to the electrical setup at no extra charge. The lads were not only able to extract two 80+ pound rocks from the electrical trench during the dig, but kept the site and my home neat and tidy during the job which given all the rainy weather and mud we experienced was much appreciated.
The quote was very competitive when compared with other electrical companies and the final bill ended up being less than what was initially quoted.

I called Halton Electric because my home had no power except in a single room. In addition, a member of my household recently required full time oxygen so lack of power creates major anxiety. From the initial phone call requesting help to the full power being restored, everyone was friendly, reassuring and competent. Derek explained what he was doing and why as well as potential outcomes. It ended up being a Burlington Hydro issue. Derek waited until Hydro arrived, explained the problem to them and then before leaving took the time to reassure me that Hydro would restore power shortly.

I started finishing my basement in early Dec 2020 with the intention of having it complete by the end of March as we had a baby due at that time. I’ve had issues in the past with contractors and prefer to do as much as possible myself. When I was ready to start doing the rough electrical in late Jan 2021, I contacted the ESA about the process for homeowners and found out due to COVID restrictions they were not doing in-home inspections. The only way to move forward at that time was to hire a licensed electrician that could provide the ESA with photos. I immediately feared this would significantly set back my project due to contractor availability and I would not be able to finish before the baby was born.
It was Halton Electric to the rescue! I had seen their trucks around town and they were the first ones I called. I explained the situation to Paul in the morning, and Derek was over in the afternoon to take a look at things. They were fantastic to work with and allowed me to stay involved which helped keep costs down and the project on schedule. I had spray foam booked for two weeks out and they were able to squeeze me in the day before to get the rough in completed and inspection passed.
Sure enough, I was unable to completely finish the basement before the baby was born, but thanks to Halton Electric I was at least able to finish all the dirty stuff. Naturally the project progressed much slower after the baby was born and it was 6 months before I was finally ready for them to come back to complete the finish electrical. Once again I had a bit of a time crunch as I had a family member planning to move in to the basement a month later. Unsurprisingly, their business had boomed in that time and they were swamped, but once again they were able to squeeze me in and were fantastic to work with.
It was a pleasure to work with Derek, Matt, Scott, and Paul. They are very friendly and easy going. I highly recommend them! Hopefully we can work together again.

I hired Halton Electric to upgrade the 100 amp fuse panel in my home to 200 amp and run a new conduit to my garage with a subpanel. We had issues with the power coming in to our house, and Burlington Hydro sent Derek from Halton Electric over to connect the new power line to our house. I can’t stress enough how good of a job Derek did. He went above and beyond and re-routed all the obsolete setup to a much cleaner one, doing some masonry work along the way to make sure it was neat and looked good as well.

We have turned to Halton Electric for help on three occasions. In every instance we have been impressed with their service, but one occasion stands out for special mention. Last year a post-mounted light fixture in our back yard rusted and
collapsed, leaving the end of the post in a concrete base. Our first thought was to turn to a landscape contractor; however, none seemed to want to handle electrical. Paul Woods responded and said a new light
could be installed by sinking bolts into the concrete base. James O’Neill handled the job and devised an ingenious solution which involved machining a base plate, mounting it with levelling bolts to which our new lamp post was attached. The point I want to make is that this was not a routine electrical job, but Halton Electric went
beyond basic service to come up with a solution. Wow! Not many companies like that around.
